After you serve, your opponent must hit a shot either before the ball has bounced or after the first bounce. If the ball bounces twice, then the player who last hit the ball wins the point. A player must also wait for the ball to go over the net and come over to their side of the court to hit it. They cannot step over the net to hit the ball. If you hit the ball and it goes in the green then its out, and your opponent gets the point.
What about the alleys?
When you’re playing singles and the ball goes into the alleys its out. Although if you’re playing doubles then all the rules above apply, meaning you can hit in the alleys.
